Credit score checking process
An important influence on car insurance prices is credit scores and insurance providers routinely check customer credit scores. When the information you provide at registration is run through a car insurance ‘aggregator’ to obtain quotes, your credit score will be checked by the insurance companies providing the quotes in the same way they do whenever insurance quotes are provided. Your credit score may also be checked by Pearson Ham and Tribes Research, the owners and operators of Opinion Driver for the purpose of obtaining and analysing insurance quotes.
Your credit score will not be used for any other purpose.
Your credit score will not be affected by this check.
Your name and address is used to run the credit check and these will be collected at the end of the survey if you choose to join Opinion Driver.
If you are registered with Experian and are able to check your credit reports, you will be able to see if and when insurance companies run a credit check.
